Sometime within the next 30 days (prolly sooner) subspacechaos.com will be switching hosts to a newer better faster awesomer server - so sexy it hurts. Ace and I are shutting down our old servers and joining forces to get our very own server rather than the virtual (read: shared) servers we each have seperately. The new machine and connection is so badass we could easily run the zone on it, so it'll be maximum overkill for just the website.
If everything goes according to plan you guys will barely notice it happened. Everything will be ported over and mirrored on the new server and then the DNS will be changed to point everyone's browsers at the new home. There should only be two issues.
1. Message board posts and site changes made between the time everything is mirrored and the DNS is changed will be lost. Make copies of any massive news posts or board flames you make.
2. The mailserver for the site will have a new address and all mail passwords will be lost (I never keep records of assigned passwords and I promptly forget them after giving them out - I leave the spying to our government). Those who have email through me (so-and-so at subspacechaos dot com) will need to contact me for the new info. FTP info will change as well, site access will be given to passplay only, he can distribute however he sees fit.
I'm still hosting the site for free even though no one has offered me sexx0rs in quite some time.
